Tons of kicks after restart for:

It's an interesting one. First error looks fine and shouldn't be giving any kicks because you are allowing PVAHR_0 prefix, which is weird.

However, now that I am looking at your filters, is this the whole file? You are missing keyword at very beginning on line 1.

Another thing I see is filter conflicting itself - the very first part !"PVDZE_" and then few lines below 5 "PVDZE_"

Where did you get the filter from?

Chris AKA Infistar. Using the latest filters which havent changed for a long time. Yes that is the whole filter. Strange thing its mostly does it only after a restart and a shit load of people are trying to join. How do I fix it?

As you see he has changed line one and added in PVDZE_ which should be a empty array string. Also looks like he is missing a few at the end of the line !="Detain" !="PVDZ_ply_Arrst".

I also get this mass kick after restarts for about 5 minutes. Normally about 20 people get in before it kicks the rest for about 5 mins then everything is back to normal.

 

At this time there is nothing you can do to fix it. let Chris aka infiSTAR know about it so he can release a new version with no kicks.

@syco: thanks for a heads up. Also I think you meant an empty string not an array :)

 

Ok, now it starts making sense. Missing "" inside first line literary kicks for everything, then exceptions follows.

Should start as this:

There's a chance your filter is broken due to this line alone, which would explain your first kick, adding empty string should fix it. The full name of PV variable does not matter, because last part is unique and autogenerated then sent to client and defined inside mission namespace there. It does not matter because we can always whitelist prefix which just means we don't have to know full name. This is already done in one of your lines:

Prefix is defined with exclamation mark and without equal sign. If equal sign is used, then exception must match full name (of Public variable in this case). So all is good here.

 

Lets dissect this issue a bit further. Your second kick error simply states that global variable (with string value same as var name) is being sent over network using publicVariable command. It kicks you because first line or as code reads it Line #0 tells it to kick for everything that is not listed in exceptions.

The code behind this kick looks like this:

KickedFromAntiHack = "KickedFromAntiHack";
PublicVariable "KickedFromAntiHack"; //could be any variant of PV, doesn't matter 

To fix that simply squeeze this PV as exception anywhere in first line:

!="KickedFromAntiHack"

Something like this should work just fine:

I literally just removed the '' 10 mins before the first post. I read if I keep that in it will log everything to RPT and lag the server.You said " adding empty string should fix it". How?

Where did you read that? I am seriously curious who's giving garbage advice again. And since when BE logs anything to RPT?

Trust me, if a simple RPT file can lag your server just like that, you got bigger issues to worry about. 

 

Now you are literary asking me how fixing syntax error can fix the broken code. I don't even know how to respond to that, really.

 

Anyway, logging itself is determined by integer at start of every line, not by removing random quotation marks....

It reads like this - log level > keyword > exceptions, where 4 is the only way to kick without logs.... which is bad idea since you'll have no way of knowing what the problem was. Logging is always good.

Was the error different now, or the same? If it's the same, there's a bigger underlying issue and from here on it would be only a guessing game for me. In this case it would be better contacting the author of AH, since it looks like you are not the only one experiencing this. There's also another similar thread that popped up at the same time yours did.

The reason you are still getting that kick is because that's probably not a PV, but script filter kick, is it? What's the full kick message and which log file does it reside in?

Either way, Buck0 has a good point - AH might be using this kick deliberately as a feature to kick off people instead of a bug.
