Trying to test it more right now but players have already summoned all 3, got kicked for above, and ran away not wanting to try again. So the taxi sits there refusing any other player from getting in. Is there any kind of time out on these? Deleted 2 of them to see if that would bring them back on, but Call Taxi continually says "Currently Occupied..." Hoping we don't have to wait for a restart every time someone calls a taxi and declines it.

my taxi script is coming along really well. added the call-a-taxi button, about to spawn in the car next lol

This is not my thread but since we are all taxi lovers here, I take it's acceptable to provide a taxi script development update in this thread (hope thread starter won't get mad)!

 

It's 02.25 AM here on a Sunday - sadly, I failed creating an "alpha-but-kinda-working" version as I originally aimed (hence no own thread yet). I guess there's too much to learn :D

 

Progress is not too bad though, I have a basic communication framework based on MP pvs/pvc in place.

I have no scripting experience but I started with some forethought & a notepad list. From my original list this is where I am:

 

The following sections are ready: (basic interaction UI "i.e.: I want taxi here & now!") +  (communication functions i.e.: player<->server request & response) + (random spawn-in position generator function). + (configuration file based zillion settings from map marker color/type/text to taxi fixed destination list).

 

The following sections still in TODO list: (service unit generation i.e.: vehicle+group+driver+waypoints) + (service unit management logic) + (a zillion more config options to let users easily manage these from a single master config file). If I succeed, taxi service should operate exactly as you define in the master config.

I know 5nine won't mind as he has been tremendously kind and friendly already PM'd me & offered help on it so I can say this here...

 

I am creating another taxi script, customization is one of the main design goals, you will be able to change taxi fixed destination position, name, icon everything from one master config file. << this is if you prefer "taxi fixed destinations only" service mode.

 

however, as an alternative, I am planning to add a click-n-go feature so you won't have to add any waypoints. player will hit M to open map, click anywhere on map (must be mainland though, taxis can't fly - just yet) and it will take the player somewhere about there. I haven't started writing this feature yet though so it might take a while. currently I am working on access control lists to control access to realtime map marker updates.

admins should have totalOmniscience seeing all details of all taxis anwhere on the map whereas players should see only see vehicles that are serving them.

 

Hello 5nine and all,

I have finally moved my lazy a** and created a post about the script I mentioned above.

It took me over a month but created a semi-working function with some screenshots & information.

I managed to get clickNGo feature working (in which, user can click on any point in map and that becomes the Taxi' destination).

I evaluated a few options in the end I implemented with the first thing you said (onsinglemapclick). Thanks for the pointer.

need update for pay the Taxi Cost. 

Players can`t pay. All other functions work`s. 

 

I will install epoch 0.3 on my testserver this week and see what has changed, I've not bothered updating since a rarely play any more.

I keep adding more items to my TODO and WISH lists and list keeps growing.

I have decided not to wait for completing coding and testing all the stuff I wanted to do.

 

Instead, I will just release as soon as possible as an early alpha.

This will happen hopefully within 7 days from now, ideally this weekend.

Hi!
 

After installing following the instructions it shows correctly the option of call a taxi... the problem starts when I call one:

After that, I started to got banned of my own server :( with the next message: "EpochMod.com Autoban #0"
