Wait for Host v1.0.2.5 Problem

Ok first of all I need to say I'm new to this stuff but I rented a VPS and created a server with v1.0.2.5 but when I try to join the server I get a Wait for Host message that I can't get passed and I've read that many other ppl have this issue and others dont. I believe that's because of the server set up I did so If any of you would be so kind to help me I would appreciate it.

Hi alexm561,

 

The hosting providers usually give you some 'how to get started' info.  Have you checked there?  Otherwise you are going to have to provide a LOT more information, and be very specific.   Also, having a basic knowledge of computers/servers helps greatly.

 

9 times out of 10 when I've had that problem, it was something with the server configuration or something wrong with the mission .pbo.  But, trying to find out what that is can be a pain when you're first learning.

 

PS- You should also post this in the 'Server Install Help' secion, rather than here in General Discussion.

thanks for the replay but like i said they have nothing to do with the server Im the one who created it from scratch watching a youtube video I was the one handling the files like the video says and the server recognizes me but i get stuck at the wait for host screen :/... I know plenty of computers but I don't know how to solve this :/

In the directory where your basic.cfg and config.cfg is, there should be an arma2oaserver.RPT.  (Open it with notepad) That usually will show server errors.  Also, what video did you watch?
