CodyCorp
:( I'm sure there's a thread somewhere for this but how do I setup a server on a VDS?
0 Darth_Rogue
I honestly can't recommend running Arma 3 on a virtual server unless you have at least 4 CPU cores to dedicate to it. Arma hates virtual machines and you'll find that you'll get about 25-30% less performance out of it than you would with bare metal hardware. Can it be done? Yes, and the setup is the same as a "regular" server. But unless you keep your player count around 60 and run very few add-ons I don't think you'll be happy with the performance. 0 CodyCorp
I'm willing to try. It's a quad core. Just a link on how to would be awesome.
0 Richie
Follow the install guide that comes with the server files.
0 hoxor
Its work perfectly with VM (Proxmox with KVM). Is better with VirtuO Hard drive. the must is on a dedicated server.
0 nedfox
Install your OS on the VDS, install steam, install all arma stuff Then follow the installation instructions which are included in the server files.zip It is literally the same as doing a non-VDS system. But as said, expect performance loss.
