Working floatplane?

Did anyone manage to get the floatplane cessna from Gnat's package that is included with epochs work?

I tried changing one of the c185s to the floatplane version and it floated for maybe 2m and then nose-dived into the water and exploded.

Same here. Nose dive and then it explodes.

It seems the issue is with the "fake ground". I don't know if the init files that come with the c185 pbos are in Epochs repository. (In fact I do not understand how the c185 is added at all- the only mention of gnt_c185 is in

The reason why this can work is the C185FInit.sqf which calls C185posFloat.sqf, which creates a "fake" ground a bit underwater on which the floats slide. It is not clear to me if and how I can include these in the dayz_mission...

So, essentially- I would need to modify the gnt_c185.pbo to comment out the part where the fake ground is not created if it is a multiplayer game.

 

But that would mean I need to upload the new bikey somehow to dayz.st and they won't let me do that...

No insight? I tried to make a "patch" pbo that would run the script that makes the fake floor anyway, but it doesn't seem to work..

No luck so far. Even when I replace the client pbos with "fixed" versions, it still nose-dives immediately. Does it matter that the server pbo is not replaced?

vbawol recommended removing these sea planes from Epoch due to them causing lag issues on the server. See the 1.0.4 rolling change log.

We have no issues with lag when they are spawned in, they just don't work. I saw that before and I found it a litle strange since I don't know of any server where the floatplane works. (Although it might be mostly about the h13, which possibly does..)
