How to make a Dayz Epoch Server?

Would make a great topic and pinned.

Dayz Epoch is in high demand.
Example to include in how to make a server?

What dayz version is required.... for each version
What Arma patch is required......for each version. This I do see in the latest release.

For some reason following the instructions does not help that is incl with the files.

I am running Dayz 1.7.7.1 Arma patch 103419.
Server I am trying to set up for my kids

Since Epoch is a derivative of DayZ you won't need any other Dayz Version than Epoch itself.

So what you need is ArmA OA with the latest stable beta patch (I use 103718) and the Epoch server files.. thats it!? Just take a look at http://dayzepoch.com/wiki/index.php/Server_Installation_Instructions  :)

so just update the Epoch in commander to the latest. Run the Epoch v1.0.2.3 server that is provided. Start your Dayz 1.7.7.1 and enable Epoch? after it restarts, they are good to go?

Just to clarify, you don't need to download regular dayz at all. You just need the client and server files for Epoch, plus Arma 2 + Arma 2 OA.

my problem was I was doing it right the entire time. I have been trying to get the maps working like tavi. 

Cherno works like a champ. The others I can't get running. Yes I have all maps updated. I am assuming I am not pointing them right or my updated maps are not the correct versions.

There are already preconfigured instances for the supported maps inside the server-package - why not using them?I just assume you are doing sth different as you say "I have all maps updated" ~~ there is no need to update anything x_X
