Did base maintenance do it?

Tricks

Question

Hey everyone,

A few of our long time players had their bases wiped overnight. They insist they have been maintaining the base weekly. Which log can I check to see what deleted the bases?

Also I am getting this error in my HiveExt.log:

I am not sure why the objects were deleted. We have had similar Hive errors from time to time. The Hive Errors tell you that objects with those ObjectIDs have corrupted data. You could make a backup, delete those objects or try to sort out where the error is in the various fields for them, and restart.

Best thing to do is check the database for those ID's and see if theirs any issues with their data(something looks out of place)

Also, as for the maintence, Idk about you but my servers maintain doesn't work, you can maintain, but when the object gets damaged(via sql) it won't reset the damage to 0, thus won't update it in the database, so the server(if you have the cleanup running) deletes it after the amount of days you set it to....I havent figured out whats wrong with it as I have even set up a test server and ran the default mission and server files and it still not work, unless its an issue with inifstar(which I highly doubt) as it was the only custom thing installed when I tested it(helps make it easier to test with the ability to spawn items in)

The only times that this has happened in my database, has been due to a table character length being exceeded, always in the Worldspace table. The table is set for 128 characters and anytime the object location data in game exceeds this, the "invalid data" error appears. The item does not appear.  Easily solved by increasing the character limit  to 132. The only thing my entries needed to correct the error was a closing bracket. Placed the closing bracket at the end of each entry and the items appear in the world.

CJ,

Thanks for your input, can you explain stpe by step how you increased your table from 128 characters to 132?

CJ,

Thanks for your input, can you explain stpe by step how you increased your table from 128 characters to 132?

I use HeidiSQL to open, log into the database. When I open up the database, I click on the object_data table and am presented with the table settings on the right. Look under the "Name" column and you will see "Worldspace". Under the "Length/Set" column, you will see a number, mine was set at 128 for "Worldspace" and the error appeared anytime the data was 129 characters or longer in length. I just changed the number from 128 to 132 and no longer receive the errors. Once you have increased the number, you may be able to add the missing info for your bad entries. All of mine took  a closing bracket to fix them and they appeared as placed by the player.

Thank you CJ  :)

I was scratching my head on this one for a bit. One clan member had finished his base but the very last piece placed disappeared, leaving a small hole in his roof. I had scanned the data a couple times, but never really looked at it close. Everything looked ok as his player Id was listed at the end as all the others were. After pulling a few hairs and checking various things, I noticed the last bracket was missing at the end of the data string.

With all of the mods out now that add data to the "Worldspace" category, the characters in this string had exceeded the limit of 128 characters by 1. That one missing character was the closing bracket. Problem solved but a better inspection of the data would have solved it earlier in my case.

I hope you can fix you missing items as easily.

Hey CJ, it didn't fix it. Players doors and garage doors are still being deleted.... I have added the doors to my variables.sqf to ensure they are updated when maintained:

DZE_DoorsLocked = ["Land_DZE_GarageWoodDoorLocked","Land_DZE_LargeWoodDoorLocked","Land_DZE_WoodDoorLocked","CinderWallDoorLocked_DZ","CinderWallDoorSmallLocked_DZ"];
DZE_safeVehicle = ["ParachuteWest","ParachuteC","MMT_Civ","TT650_Civ","CSJ_GyroC"];
DZE_Garage = ["Land_MBG_Garage_Single_D","Land_MBG_Garage_Single_A","Land_MBG_Garage_Single_B","Land_MBG_Garage_Single_C"];
DZE_maintainClasses = ["ModularItems","DZE_Housebase","LightPole_DZ","BuiltItems","Plastic_Pole_EP1_DZ","Fence_corrugated_DZ","CanvasHut_DZ","ParkBench_DZ","MetalGate_DZ","StickFence_DZ","DesertCamoNet_DZ","ForestCamoNet_DZ","DesertLargeCamoNet_DZ","ForestLargeCamoNet_DZ","DeerStand_DZ","Scaffolding_DZ","FireBarrel_DZ","Land_MBG_Garage_Single_D","Land_MBG_Garage_Single_A","Land_MBG_Garage_Single_B","Land_MBG_Garage_Single_C","HeliH","CinderWallHalf_DZ","CinderWall_DZ","CinderWallSmallDoorway_DZ","CinderWallDoorSmall_DZ","CinderWallDoorSmallLocked_DZ","CinderWallDoorway_DZ","CinderWallDoor_DZ","CinderWallDoorLocked_DZ"];

This is killing me! What can be the issue??

Plot poles too now....

My post was about the "invalid data" errors that you were receiving. I don't use decay on my server but you may want to check your SQL events and see what is being run and what they are cleaning up. Also, what do you have in the HiveExt  config file in this section:

;Negative values will disable this feature

;0 means that ALL empty placed items will be deleted every server restart

;A positive number is how old (in days) a placed empty item must be, in order for it to be deleted

CleanupPlacedAfterDays = ????

Hey CJ,

Maybe you can shed some light? Or anyone? I think I have been looking at it for too long and need some fresh eyes.

I will post my SQL events:

Delete Unused Vehicles

DELETE FROM `object_data` WHERE `LastUpdated` < DATE_SUB(CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, INTERVAL 4 DAY) AND `CharacterID` > 0 AND `Classname` NOT IN ('VaultStorage','LockboxStorage','VaultStorageLocked','LockboxStorageLocked') AND `Inventory` <> '[]' AND `Inventory` IS NOT NULL

Remove Damaged Vehicles

DELETE FROM `object_data` WHERE Damage = 1

Remove Empty Objects

DELETE FROM `Object_DATA` WHERE `LastUpdated` < DATE_SUB(CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, INTERVAL 7 DAY) AND `Datestamp` < DATE_SUB(CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, INTERVAL 24 DAY) AND ( (`Inventory` IS NULL) OR (`Inventory` = '[]') OR (`Inventory` = '[[[],[]],[[],[]],[[],[]]]') )

Remove Old Logins

DELETE FROM `player_login` WHERE `Datestamp` < DATE_SUB(CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, INTERVAL 7 DAY)

Remove Old Object

DELETE FROM `Object_DATA` WHERE `LastUpdated` < DATE_SUB(CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, INTERVAL 21 DAY) AND `Datestamp` < DATE_SUB(CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, INTERVAL 42 DAY)

Remove Old Characters

DELETE FROM `character_data` WHERE `LastLogin` < DATE_SUB(CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, INTERVAL 22 DAY)

Set Damage on Age

UPDATE `Object_DATA` SET `Damage`=0.11 WHERE `ObjectUID` <> 0 AND `CharacterID` <> 0 AND `Datestamp` < DATE_SUB(CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, INTERVAL 7 DAY) AND ( (`Inventory` IS NULL) OR (`Inventory` = '[]') )

Clean-up in my HiveExt is set to: CleanupPlacedAfterDays = 21

Question... do I require the "Remove Old Object" SQL Event if I already if I have CleanupPlacedAfterDays = 21 in place?

I was going to ask if they are the same.... Perhaps you can do away with the "remove old objects" SQL event...

Here is something else you might wish to try

Can we add cinder doors and garage doors to your "NOT IN" list to be assured they are not deleted?

they should fall under the %locked and cinder% calls but i suppose you could also add the built classname to the NOT IN section too

just checked and yes they all fall under the %cinder %locked sections

just changed it up abit for origins buildings as im on overpochins

Hey Carl, I want to enter this in as a normal event like my others so I dont have to do it manually. Do you know how to create the "INSERT INTO" part and all that jazz?  :P
