Hey Guys/Gals,

 

Many questions about the Epoch Arma 3 Launcher, I hope this clears up some questions.

 

First Step:   Download the launcher here: Click Here

 

Second Step:  Extract the files - The picture shows the Zip file on the right and how to extract using 7-Zip. The file on the left is the extracted folder.

Third Step: Open the extracted folder and click the "Setup.exe" and install

 

Fourth Step:  Click on the "Epoch Launcher.application"

 

Now that you have installed the Launcher and now have it opened it will look like this:

You will notice the Gear Cog wheel in the upper right hand corner - this is your settings. The square box will close the launcher.

 

In the settings you will see where you can select where the installation path will go, download path, speed settings and such. Be sure that the installation path is set for your rood directory folder for Arma 3. This location might be different depending on where you have Arma 3 installed. Most common place is --  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3 -- 

 

As for the download Path, you can keep it in your download folder if you would like - Please do not make the download path and installation path the same location.

 

You can also change the Max Download kb/s to 0 (zero) if you want the download to be unlimited. The Max Upload kb/s can be set as well.

Once you have the settings set, you can click the download button and your download should begin:

Once the download is complete - the Launcher will begin seeding automatically. Please seed as much and as long as you can. This will allow others to receive files quicker. You can open the launcher any time and click the download button. The launcher will begin seeding if you have the current version.

If you get the error "Torrent Thread Exited" - please click the download button again

 

Now you can click the install button and install the mod. Once installed - launch Arma 3 and be sure that Epoch Mod is Enabled. 

 

You can now go to multiplayer and filter servers by choosing "Mission" and putting in "Epoch Mod" - join servers and have fun. You can also join Epoch supported servers HERE

 

 

If you have any troubles with the launcher, Please check the debug box in the settings of the launcher and post the error in a new thread with your detailed issue.

During the install files / folders  can be locked, stopping the installation. Most common reasons are:

 

Arma 3 is still running.

Windows explorer can block the renaming of the mod folder if you are browsing it. 

Have also had a suggestion to run as administrator, could very well help if on windows 8 and running as a user / power user. Not had the need personally but is a good rule of thumb on windows 8.

 

Also, if the launcher is unexpectedly closed during a download it may try and restart the download. In the download folder there are quick restart files, delete those, leaving the mod zip, and the launcher will re-hash the existing download and continue from where you left off.

I am trying to install epoch and I keep getting an error that says "The referenced assembly is not installed on your system" whenever I try to launch the setup for the launcher.  Am I missing something?

You could try to uninstall and reinstall it sounds like something got corrupted somewhere. Are you using Windows 8 ?
