I was listening to some good ol Ensiferum when it dawned on me....I wonder if anyone else over @ epoch forums listens to metal while doing computer shtuffs!

Post your fav metal for me to listen to! I probably already have heard it but maybe not and either way I love all genres and instruments and for the record most music will appeal to me be it hardcore metal, or some J-pop :D (I think it comes from a musical background at a young age & a very open mind).

NO GENRE BASHING <3 ...

 interesting thought - here ya go - old skool UK thrash is my taste... so ya got - Bolt Thrower, Lawnmower Deth, Sabbat, Re-Animator, Acid Reign..... Also like Maiden, Helloween, ACDC, Motorhead, Dio, Black Sabbath, Anthrax,  Slayer, Kreator, Megdeth and many others.

 So pretty much old skool tbh... I don't mind stuff like A7X and stone sour nightwish... which is about as modern as I get lol.

I was lucky enough to see Megadeath live with Job for a Cowboy, Lamb of God and Children of Bodom. Very good show!

Props on the Dio and Sabbath love!

Never really got into Acid Reign or Re-Animator I will have to check them out for sure, I assume you like Mastodon, Gorjira, Meshuggah etc....

      I have been able to add zombie spawners and such to epoch, so i have had success adding items in mission.sqm.  I am trying to make an area trigger that plays music when players enter it. I have created it in the editor and it works fine. I just cannot seem to get it to work on the epoch server. I placed code into the description.ext and i think that code is bad, and maybe the copied code for mission.sqm needs to be changed.
      Can someone please post a complete one? (Just the parts I need, not a complete mission.sqm, or description.ext, unless you want to) So I can study it? I wont be able to modify an existing "safe zone dome" code or other code, as i have worked on this for 3 days. I have seen multiple posts, most of which were for "Arma2" Epoch. I have really worked at this and just cant get it. Please help.
      Also, i did make an intro music for my epoch server, and it works great. So, i have a CfgSounds area in description.ext, and i was putting the trigger into a Sensors area below Items in mission.sqm.

      I do not know much about scripting besides the basics. I am trying to add music that will play when AI hunt down players. I want the music to be played global, and I don't want the music to overlap every time an additional AI patrol joins in to hunt a player. 
      Now, I have tried using tons of scripts on the internet which show the basics of how to play sounds, but no matter what I do I cannot get them to play with AI reinforcements.
      I have a private server for me and just a few friends, so I want the music to be global. I have the AI as police so I was thinking something like PayDay music to play when cops start chasing the players. I have tried tons of different code but nothing happens. If anyone could help that would be great. If you could also give a step by step guide that would be incredible, because I know little to nothing about where to put the lines of code and stuff.

      I am currently working on a script to allow a player to salvage some metal or parts from vehicles.
       
      I am more than half-way done with the script, I would like to share it when it is complete.
       
      Currently, it allows you to salvage some metal or repair parts from a vehicle, and with each attempt (chance of failure) the vehicle itself becomes more dmaged.
       
      I will have a toggle to allow the option of allowing a chance for the vehicle to explode from too many salvages.
       
      At the moment, I am working on the arrays of items to give, as well as making sure there's no way to spam or exploit it from a players position.
       
      I will be adding files, videos, and other goodies in the near future.

      Hey hey,
      I wrote a small fix for the glitch here: https://github.com/vbawol/DayZ-Epoch/issues/1576, this will place a indestructible wood wall in the front of the metal gate on server start and will be removed, if you unlock the gate. 
      Cause i hate self actions i was not in the state to write a self action for it to turn it on again if the gate is locked, Feel free to make one and post it here :)
       
      So lets start, you will need: Custom compiles.sqf, Player_UnlockDoor.sqf, and some edits in the server_monitor.sqf.
       
      1.
      In your custom compiles.sqf find:
      player_unlockDoor = compile preprocessFileLineNumbers "\z\addons\dayz_code\compile\player_unlockDoor.sqf"; And Replace it with your custom path to the player_unlockDoor.sqf in my case:
      player_unlockDoor = compile preprocessFileLineNumbers "custom\player_unlockDoor.sqf"; 2.  If you dont have a custom player_unlockDoor.sqf copy it out of the dayz_code folder and paste it in your custom folder or any path you point above.
      3. In player_unlockDoor.sqf find:
      KeyCodeTry = nil; And add above this:
      if ((typeOf _obj) == "CinderWallDoorLocked_DZ") then { _antiglitchvari = _obj getVariable "antiGlitchWall"; if !(isNil "_antiglitchvari") then { deleteVehicle _antiglitchvari; _obj setVariable ["antiGlitchWall", Nil, true]; }; }; If you are done it should look like this:

      4.  In server_monitor.sqf (usually in your dayz_server.pbo/system/) if you use plot 4 life, it should be in your mission, find this:

      If you dont use Plot 4 life, find in step 4 this lines:

      _ownerID = _object getVariable["CharacterID","0"]; _objectglitchwall setVariable ["CharacterID",_ownerID,true]; That should be all.
