All they've done is removed the Gamers Platoon hosting from it most likely due to the monetisation of the mod (£32000 a month when it was popular yes please and they also asked for donations :D ). VBAWOL & co you've been doing this all wrong! And still they won't release server files despite blatantly breaching the rules. To be honest if BI doesn't shut them down there is nothing really stopping people using BI tools, the engine and assets to commercialise a game. So the latest incoming update? Not trying to start shit, nor a flame war. And I couldn't really give a fuck what you choose to play yours, and peoples personal choices are totally irrelevant. A lot of people believed Origins was dead, including myself, the above post is just a information share. There is nothing wrong with the Origins as a mod, until they added all the stupid shit, I've spent hundreds of hours on it in the past. The only reason we have these mods, be it Origins, Epoch or even DayZ is because BI were nice enough to release not only the tools they used to create content for their engine but the engine itself. The attitude of the Origins team, old and new, puts that all at risk. That is where the problem lies. By abusing the system they have set everyone up to have BI retract their open attitude in the future its unlikely but not impossible. That will affect both the Arma 2 and Arma 3 communities as well not just DayZ and Epoch. Or perhaps you think its fair that the Arma 2 community has been developing a lot of the scripts we use, models etc plus all the work from the DayZ community and the various past and present mods for free while they have a taxable income? And because those people follow the rules its all released for everyone to use with the exception of Origins? Not to mention that there whole premise "that Origins is unique" is utter pish. Even Martins Taviana map was put together using BI tools and assets. This statement in itself has been used to bash other mods consistently and still is. Again there is fuck all in Origins that is so unique that they have to hide the server files. For your information if you want to read people starting shit, read the original Origins forums, where the fanbois rip into every other mod even while their population has dwindled to 243 active servers. But then they started making a bunch of dumb decisions like mass banning the majority of their players because some script kiddies got ahold of exploits that the devs left open, instead of just fixing the problem.
