fosser
Hello, I just read some stuff about the licence involved in to epoch and ask my self how could CCG (customcombatgaming) "sell" legal some ingame stuff ? If its not so legal is there a solution how server owner could cover their costs ? or do the server owners have to rely on the real donations without perks ? One more think that came to my mind is that all the scripts and missions for epoch also have to be Share Alike (so shared open and with the DML-SA Licence) ? Thanks, Fosser Source: http://customcombatgaming.com/forums/index.php?/store/
Flosstradamus
It isn't legal. CCG just doesn't give a shit about what BI puts out as their licensing is all. You can host a server with perks all you want but you can't advertise it on the forums but one day BI will throw you a cease and desist letter to remove it i'm sure. FJack
Since you know what real donations are and you read the licensing agreement, you seem to know the answer. There's no way around it apart from ignoring it or just accepting donations. I'm no lawyer but i'm pretty sure you can offer reliable service in exchange for donations so you can most likely encourage players to donate by giving perks to regulars and hope that influences them to donate. I doubt giving perks to all players that come back over and over is considered a sale. Just don't expect a donation from every perk you give. That way you'll keep those players that expect perks and have more chances to get donations by keeping players in your server.
