although I believe this is to do with an AI city I added to my server,  Only other problem is DayZ Commander and GameTracker not sure if I'm meant to change gametrackers port, I heard somewhere that it is meant to be steam query port

Edit: Okay so yeah, You need to update Gametrackers Query port to the steamqueryport set in the server.cfg :) just fyi :)

Up and running on Ubuntu 14.04.1,

I've connected once but can't seem to get it to show up in DayZCommander, once that's sorted I'll add the custom stuff back.

[EDIT]

Lulz :   I'd only gone and reverted cfgdayz/server.cfg to one that had incorrect steam ports in it  It seems to be working fine now.

Now time to delete WIP before I do it again!!

Devd: on Github...there is still 'epoch' binary version 1.62 correct?

After downloading 1.63 from the Arma linux server download page I can connect to my server.

Does it matter which version (1.62 / 1.63 to use with Epoch 1.0.5.1?, don't think so. But what are most people using?

The 1.62 version is no longer useful today because of many improvements made in 1.63 branch, most notably multiplayer and lobby improvements, and most game clients having switched to 1.63. The binary in devd's repository is outdated. I have verified that the latest Linux beta (126652 which is newer than the one in this thread) works with devd's scripts with two following alterations: the glibc/eglibc must be at least 1.16 and the preloading of C++ libraries is no longer necessary.

If you have a difficulty installing the Linux game server manually, I encourage you to try my script https://github.com/emestee/dayz-epoch-linux-server-magic which fully automates the process. I will be shortly making a branch for the latest beta.

No, after I've recognized that the version of devd is still 1.6.2 and my client was already 1.63 I've downloaded the newest server.

I did not know after being absent for 4 months or so that this does currently not work in DayZCommander anymore (what is the fault of DayZCommander). That cost me 2 hours to recognize that my server is already running but that I cannot see it in the commander, lol.

But thanks!

Whats also new to me is that it seems that the expansion folder is not needed anymore (as there is no beta anymore on steam?). So there I've loaded my Battleeye from the last time.

So still some things I need to learn newly ,)

Copied from win to linux?

Thats always the problem if you copy windows files to linux.

Do a dod2linux <filename> to fix these control characters.

I did do that  (dos2linux install.sh), I then got another set of errors saying invalid URL for curl and it would fail on every level of the install when I did different parameters other than all. Every one of the downloads would fail.
