I found this on another forum, but seeing as I am truly dedicated to this one, I thought I'd share what i have found concerning the question I see a lot of people ask regarding default loadouts for everyone, including respawns and new players to the server. Its customizable with current class IDs. Unpack dayz_server.pbo and navigate to the compiles folder. Open the file named server_playerlogin.sqf. Find the follow block of code : _config = (configFile >> "CfgSurvival" >> "Inventory" >> "Default"); _mags = getArray (_config >> "magazines"); _wpns = getArray (_config >> "weapons"); _bcpk = getText (_config >> "backpack"); _randomSpot = true; _key = format["CHILD:203:%1:%2:%3:",_charID,[_wpns,_mags],[_bcpk,[],[]]]; _key call server_hiveWrite; and comment this out by adding /* */ to the top and bottom of this code block. Like this /* _config = (configFile >> "CfgSurvival" >> "Inventory" >> "Default"); _mags = getArray (_config >> "magazines"); _wpns = getArray (_config >> "weapons"); _bcpk = getText (_config >> "backpack"); _randomSpot = true; _key = format["CHILD:203:%1:%2:%3:",_charID,[_wpns,_mags],[_bcpk,[],[]]]; _key call server_hiveWrite; */ Then directly underneath this paste the following and configure to your liking. I have tried this and it works. To understand the logic, it is pointless to add a custom sqf in the mission folder, whether it be inside the init.sqf or a "exeVM" or a "call" method pointing to another custom sqf file seeing as the init is processed before server_playerlogin.sqf. _randomSpot = true; _inventory = [["ItemFlashlight","ItemMap","ItemGPS","NVGoggles","AK_74"],["ItemBandage","ItemPainkiller","30Rnd_545x39_AK"]]; _backpack = ["DZ_ALICE_Pack_EP1",[],[]]; _key = format["CHILD:203:%1:%2:%3:",_charID,_inventory,_backpack]; _key call server_hiveWrite; Here is a list of most of the class ID's currently being used. Not all of them are there, but for this purpose you will find it more than adequate. https://forums.dayz.com/topic/137361-dayz-chernarus-class-ids/ Finally we can now lay this beast to rest. Hope this will help many solve their default loadouts. I can recommend <ESSV3> by @ebayShopperif you need more than a single loadout for all spawns.
  3. I have a server i started not too long ago hosted by GTX. I had InfiSTAR installed by the support and server was working decent. After EPOCH updated to 1.1 my server does not have loot in any building. Very few containers spawn with anything usefull in them....Furniture in houses and loot piles will have generic loot like moist towlettes and paint or minimal building supplies. I do not see blue tarps on the map anymore and cargo with loot spawns maybe 3 or 4 in an entire day of the server being up and running. No AI spawns in any area of map at any time of the day. Have been playing over a week now and nothing spawns anywhere. and it NEVER stops raining. I am VERY noob when it comes to adding scripts or mods to servers myself. I played an Arma 2 server about 2 years ago and learned a bit about this stuff. since then i have been re-learing everything. the only thing i have installed is Zombies and Demons. Nothing else has been changed or edited by me. Is there anything i can edit myself to change any of this? should i have the server reinstalled?
  4. I have just managed to install the latest version of InfiSTAR v1448. Since then I am getting an error when logging into the server. "\z\addons\dayz_server\compile\server_maintainArea.sqf" not found." I have looked and the file is present at that location. And in my server_functions.sqf it is called correctly. server_maintainArea = compile preprocessFileLineNumbers "\z\addons\dayz_server\compile\server_maintainArea.sqf"; Would there be any reason why this call would fail?
  5. Im looking for an easy, effective way to randomize loot (weapons, ammo, toolbelt items, food, meds and building supplies) in static crate. I have a placed crate already and populated with stuff but i would like to have this random on spawn. Also i would like to know how to have this crate stay for 2 hours then destroy and respawn 15 min later. This is what my customLootCrate.sqf looks like :
  6. Hello, I'm very new to scripting and I've been trying to get this to work for a while now. I recently got my first dayz epoch server up and running and I've started to customize the map and add new buildings etc. I'm trying to add a custom loot crate to my server which spawns a set list of items from an array or whatever but I can't seem to find a way to get it to work. All of the tutorials and posts about it I've seen are outdated or they are just too confusing to follow. I just want a simple guide on where I need to put each line of code in order to get this to work. I have WAI on my server which I think is for AI missions and apparently you can edit the config files to spawn custom loot crates but I'm really not sure. If someone could help me out that would be great Thanks, Adam

  12. Got my server running pretty smooth. there's just a few minor issues i cant figure out and it's really driving me insane, making me want to drink heavily and then beat my wife. Lol, the first issue is with vectors, everything about the script works except when the server restarts, the vectorized pieces are reverting back to their original position. Myself and another amateur scripter have combed thru the files and can't figure it out. The second issue is when some players log in, they have negative 5 million coins on their person (bank coins are saving) and only a death will fix it. We're using souls currency BTW.   15. Hi everyone I have been searching for a scripting to either teach me to script or to script my server just to get it on its feet. I am looking for someone who can script for an Arma 2 Overpoch server. I have many scripts in mind to add but some examples are the basic self BB, tow/lift, AI missions, Custom load outs and coins and advanced trading. All those kind of basic server scripts. But mainly what my goal was for my server is to make it fully militarized. If anyone is interested in teaching me how to script or scripting my server for me it would be greatly appreciated.   19. SO essentially I'm trying to write a script which will let players booby trap an unlocked vehicle and the layout of it so far is this. Check if the vehicle is unlock, if it is then run the plant script, else end with "Cannot booby trap this vehicle." All i want to know is how or where i can find out how to write the first part which checks if the target vehicle (cursorTarget or something like that) is locked or not. Thanks :D
  20. So I've seen on some servers that you can carry 2 primary weapons. One on your back and on you hold. I'd love to see a script like this that i could use on my server. Hi all you beautiful brainy bunch I need help installing mods to my Gtx server but here is the problem I suffer with (ME) it affects concentration and caused memory loss (short term) on very bad days and lots of pain so following the walkthroughs is supremely hard for my piece of ***t brain :( please will someone be willing to contact me and help me get a few mods installed black market better loot ect I'd be so very happy I'd even be desperate enough to pay if noone is willing to help out of the goodness of your hearts XD so yeah please and thank you ect regards its me Mario ;)

Hello, I have WAI installed on my server but I don't know how to add ai spawns in set places on the map, there's some example code in the chernarus.sqf file in the dayz server pbo but I couldn't get it to work. Does anyone have an example I can use? Also how do I add multiple spawns for the ai? Thanks, Adam
