He is in the wrong section. you need to head down to Arma 2 Epoch section.
 
and the colors are always different depending on the server you are on and how the script is written out.
usually blue is ikea building supplies, yellow is treasure drop, red is AI mission or Veteran Difficulty, green is Med supply drop. just a baseline for you, but they do vary.

no, not at all. it helps you start out with a few things, so you dont just get raped every time you walk into your first town. The only people who don't like it are those who are geared and get killed by new spawns who kill them with a map/compass/watch budget gun. who are generally bad players who like killing new spawns who aren't armed.
 
So yeah, its fine imo.
