    Ok here's what I'd like to see.
    The stairs - they need fixed badly.  If you spiral the stairs a support leg is directly in the middle of the set of stairs below...  Also they should be upgradable two more times.  once to put wood stud walls around them, and second to cover them with corrugated metal.
     
    Bring back the stringer stairs too in addition to the current ones.
     
    Ladders - as was already mentioned.
     
    Half floors, half walls, can't the devs marry the dayz epoch building parts with A3 epoch building parts?  I mean what possible reason is there that I can't build a half floor or quarter floor or wooden railing etc?  I can totally repair a car with a magic pistol but can't build anything but an up to building code stud wall with 16" centers and a full floor?
     
    Craft-able well.  I want to be able to dig a well at my base.
     
    Permanent fire pit (wood needed to make fire) or a burn barrel for bases.
     
    I want practical stuff that fits the game play, not a football stadium with retractable roof to keep my heli safe... or remote starters, come on...

    Yeah Richie, I know these things cause I follow Epoch through the WORMHOLE!

    But the public doesn't see this and this is why these people are here just to say it.

    And when the general public doesn't see these things they think the devs aren't doing anything.
    I mean just step out of your own shoes bud, remember you are Official and you are a MOD, so you see many different facets of Epoch that the public doesn't.

    Im sure you guys will rehash this and come up with a single locked post to update that one only instead of the many announcement threads that make it confusing as to which is the latest and where they are.

    Even the link Frink sent shows that the info on Epoch was old and not updated.....

    Don't get me wrong, IM NOT COMPLAINING, I love epoch and its progress but the public is putting pressure on the server owners too.
    It seems as of late, most server owners are themselves playing survival in real life.

    Info: population only at 20 max this week and still climbing ranks.....not good in terms of epoch popularity

    For me, griefing comes from your intent.  If your only purpose on my server is to truly ruin someones (or everyone's) experience then you'll be shown the door in short order.

    This would still allow your scenario and allow any other server operator to change those numbers if needed.  You want to put yours at 8000 items allowed per jammer, then do it.  I want to limit mine to 300 so be it.  I'm not sure how this changes the mod.
     
    Seems to be you are the only one around here that doesn't like dissenting opinions.  Seeing as you are the one saying "You're wrong and I'm right"...  You think my idea is a bad idea so be it, your opinion is noted. You are the only person here that that is FLAT OUT ignoring other peoples opinions.  
     
    I don't see any demands, I merely mentioned "I propose..."  That's called an idea.  Not a demand.  It's called feedback.  Based on feedback from players on my server and my observations and my experience running my server, this is the feedback I have to allow the best overall experience to my players.  
     
    Go troll some other thread.  Get 40-60 on your server regularly then come back when you have a clue.
     
    The Diz school of Epoch Server Operation:  
    1. My server has no issues with 15 players, therefore there can be no possible legitimate reason anyone would want anything other than what I have.  It works great for me, it should be just perfect for everyone else.

    What size group needs 75+ shelves, 30 tipis and 30 lockboxes in EACH of their 3 bases?
     
    I would be VERY open to increasing the jammer build limit and range considerably, IF they would limit the jammer to 1 jammer per group and include under the jammer build limit all other buildables that consume world limit slots (ie shelves, tipis, lockboxes).

    Too many groups eat up much of the world build limit with 50 shelves, 25 tipis and 25 lockboxes plus they also get the jammer build limit.   Put up a second jammer somewhere else and rinse and repeat.  We have at least one group (4 individuals) so far that I've seen that is going on their 3rd base on the map, their 1st and 2nd consuming likely about 300-400 world items each.  
     
    Server operators can limit the actual building pieces with the jammer but not stop a group from eating up the world limit with shelves and lockboxes...  This needs reigned in.

    Learning how to script/manage scripts/manage a server can be treacherous on a live server with players. If you have an old computer or something kicking around that you can use to test things before you implement them you will not only save your players headache when things go wrong (and they will go wrong, it's all part of learning)  but will give you a clean area to work in.

    Be realistic with your wants.  Start small and learn the basics with the smaller easier, well documented scripts.  Again be realistic with what you want to add and learn as you go along.  There are many threads with very good instructions and explanations on many good scripts.  Be realistic, take your time and read as much as you can.

    Many of us among the community are doing custom map addons using various map editing tools, but up until now there hasn't been a "good" way to spice things up with loot crates.  Sure you can manually spawn in crates via script, but then you have to go through the laborious process of filling each one with a specific set of loot.  What's more, the loot is always the same with no variety, which gets boring for your players after a while once they know what to expect from each crate.
     
    So to combat this issue I've come up with a way to have a random and dynamic loot crate spawn system that is fully customizable.  You can change the number of crates, their position on the map, what type of crate is used, what loot goes in each crate and how much of it, and add or remove loot items as needed.  You can also specify a static amount of any given item, such as explosives, to prevent large random amounts of them from spawning in.
     
    To use this addon -  simply download and unzip the attached file and place the PBO in your @epochhive folder.  You're done!  No BE filters are needed for this to work.  
    The coordinates that are currently listed in the script for the crates are for a custom area that I designed for Bornholm, Object X-99.  So those of you using will be all set already, especially if you have AI soldiers guarding the area.  If you are running other maps then you will likely need to edit the coords for the crates and possibly the number of crates you want to spawn.  But using this as a base template you should be able to create a solution that will fit your needs.  
     
     
    Included here is a screenshot of the main file and a short explanation of what each section is for and a general idea of how it works.  Use these instructions as a guide and you should be all set.  Of course, questions in this thread are welcome!  I will be happy to help with any hiccups.

    A3 Epoch Custom Crates v1.25 - Download (Github)
     
    UPDATE 4/27 - Ghostrider-DBD- has added the ability to use vehicle crashes at crate locations, similar to Richie's Heli Crash script.  This option can be enabled or disabled on line 23.  You also have the option to create a crate spawn location offset.  Check lines 150-152 to set those up.  There are other things that can be tweaked as well.  See the script's line notes for details 
     
     
    I'm sure there's probably a "better" or more efficient way to do what I've done in this script.  I'm no scripting expert.  If anyone has any ideas or suggestions that can make this better I'm all ears!  However, since this is run by the server only and only loads one time on each server restart, I'm not incredibly worried about optimizing it.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it!   ;)  This addon is nearly infinitely customizable and should meet the needs of nearly any situation where a static crate is needed.
