  1. Hi together,

     

    what is it with those drones? They really just are annoying. Running around 10 minutes, finding no gun, drone, AI => DEAD. Respawn, running around 10 minutes, finding a gun, miss the drone. AI => DEAD.

    Thit happens about 10 times now. I don't want to complain but is there any way to get around the drones? Hiding from them or such? This makes no fun at all with that little bastards.

  2. but the server I am on doesn't rain like at all. It is weird. And snake bite? Didnt know those were the thing, honestly. My base though is over water (on a pier) so maybe the water glitched somehow into my character don't know. Thanks for replies.

    On arma 2 epoch i had a base over water (in the sea) and would get cold very quick, so i had fire barrels all over the base lol

  3. Correct me if I am wrong but I have heard nothing about when there is going to be a 3.0.1 update for servers. I downloaded the clientside update from 2.5.2 to 3.0.1 and yet I cannot play anymore because the majority of all epoch servers run 2.5.2 (why realease the client update before the server updates, I dont know) but I would like to get back into playing so does anyone know of any eta for the arrival of the server updates. if not is there anywhere on the internet (none that I have found yet) that I can download the older files (2.5.2) whether that be through someone uploading them, dropboxing, mediafire, etc.

    2302 is the default ArmA port, most dedicated servers use that port, GSP use strange port ranges.

    Every server we have hosted had 2302 port and none of them were dedi. lol

     

    but they did run well! woudln't mind setting up a A3 epoch one next

  5. It's playwithsix and the launchers that offer the most recent client files that are causing the problem. The A3Launcher is not offering it yet and I think that makes a lot of sense.

     

    There are two ways to fix the problem of everyone getting lost in between versions and filling up every server's TS help channels and web support forums and that is to either:

    • Release the server files to the community at the same time they are released to the official servers or,
    • Not have the recent client files available on any launchers until the server files are in general release

    It's one or the other or, we'll have this problem for 2-3 weeks every 2-3 months.

    i dont use launchers so none of this is a problem for me lol

  6. I never understood why people use PlaywithSix. It's so bulky and non-intuitive. A3 Launcher is great. It has the latest release (0.2.5.2) and it's easy to get the right files. 

    download speeds is a big factor for some people.

     

    also you can change versions on playwithsix to and has content that A3launcher dont.

     

    the way servers are atm with server owners making there own custom mod pack that you can only get via there website/launchers. took me ages last night to find a good server that didnt need it's own unique mod pack :-(

  7. Cutting eye out, or picking up card like krypto? I kill owner i dont have to wait 45 min for him and hies crew to come back and secure their car...

    cutting out eye would be good if you could only use it till next restart(the eye), if you was going to use cards then you would have to remove how it works with a group, witch means you might aswell just use keys

  8. Thah is why u had backup keys in base. Key/Card/Eye Scan all ideas better then time lock for me. I also agree with the privite areas, maybe add something into jammer so group leader can decide and give permissions to players to acess lockers/doors/cars.

    card or eye scan without an object to be able to take off a player after you kill them wont make no diffrence to having timed locks!!

  9. My point was that if you disable all the PvE and antagonists and just do AI missions then you're left with what is essentially Wasteland....a PvP fest with AI missions. I mean if that's what people want their Epoch servers to be like then be my guest. I'm not judging at all. Just saying if that's the kind of game you're after then Wasteland is probably better suited for that than Epoch.

    Ah ok, you just misread what i was on about, no worries mate.

    replacing the antagonists with better roaming ai dont make it less pve

    i think your find thats how most pvp server are setup like lol surely you play on other peoples servers as no one seems to be playing on yours!

  10. LOL SRSLY? I am old arma 2 wasteland player and its actualy definition of wasteland...

    Wasteland dont have all the survival mechanics or base building

     

    Wasteland has a overpowered villna feel, and is just a gaint game of cod/BF

     

    People have been saying for years dayz was just wasteland with zombies without thinking of the difference in mechanics.

     

    I thought only noobs still said this stuff!!

    how? the same could be said for pvp then if you look at it like that!!

    sometimes we like to play coop with mates and survive together fighting ai and doing missions witch aint like wasteland!

     

    i like playing both pvp and pve but i find my self now days playing pve more as its more fun and gets the most out of the mod, when i play pvp now days its gets repetitive and boring, main reason i stopped playing cod along time ago lol

    From the latest changelog:

     

    [Changed] Chance to spawn sapper every 5 minutes (max of 3 within 800m). Chances increase while in a city and if the player is soiled.
    [Changed] Chance to spawn drone when player fires weapon (max of 3 within 800m). Chances increase while in a city and are reduced if player uses a silencer.
     
    So correct me if I'm wrong, the pain in the arse drones that spawn 3 insanely accurate AI soldiers?  Chance on each individual shot?
     
    I really don't understand where the devs are going with this.  I want to engage more with players, not shoot sappers and drones down all day.   I hope this is a configurable setting,

     

    as long as you can turn antagonists off server owners can decide if this is a problem for them,
