Xilo
Love this mod and all the work done so far. I just have one suggestion if it is not already planned. Any plans to disable the waypoint system unless you have acquired a GPS?
SkyDogs
I must say, for a game set in 2035, the GPS system is a little retro.
Xilo
I must say, for a game set in 2035, the GPS system is a little retro. 2035 GPS would not be retro. AS a matter of fact most common infrastructure for airlines etc all switching over to RNAV/GPS which is labeled their "Next Gen". So GPS would play a major role in a 2035 scenario. I guess I just like doing a little bit of Land Nav from my time in the USMC. That center on position map function ruins some of it too. But I know that would be harder to disable

In game it's poor and actually worse in my opinion, than the GPS in Arma2.
Zombiemeatspin
It is disabled in hardcore (first person view) servers. Personally, I would hate to see the waypoint go because it can be a great tool in a map the size of altis.

reen624
Hello Folks! Id love to join this discussion. Having waypoints and that incredible group marker system on, is like a having a wallhack(team) and a rangefinder(marker set in battle). This discussion is not new to me. We had it on zerosurvival.net and thewalkingchernarus.com. All in all i have to say you ruin the DayZ experience with having such things turned on. I use to play on servers with deactivated markers and with time u learn how to deal without. I can walk wherever i want without gps and compass on Chernarus cause i learned the map. U can use other things for orientation. Sun and clouds, churches normally build to east et cetera. Its sad that many people cant manage to use a map. Even if they have a watch ( sun/time orientation ) or a compass. I really wonder if the persons learned anything about orientation at all in their life. In my opinion its much better without. More fun. More survival. The experiences on the server showed that first everyone crys. In the end most people like it better without.
GasT
I agree that a GPS should be required for way points but group hexes should def stay and even color marked so you know who's who. Then it's a good balance between casual and realism.
TheHermit
It is not disabled on ALL HC servers. Unfortunately.
Zombiemeatspin
Well if they remove the waypoints before you get a gps please add a compass at spawn. Also can anyone enlighten me how to do the color hex? GasT? I tried the usual squad commands but they're binded to something else.
